Hey did anyone here remember seeing that the one way trigger progression/guitar part was stolen from this random spanish band almost exactly, rhythmically and musically? Does anyone have the youtube video of the spanish band’s song? I’m trying to prove it to my friend but he doesn’t believe me. The new songs from Lilly’s vid are aight

2 Diego August 20, 2014 at 1:48 pm

@Wes It’s called “El muelle de San Blás” and the band’s called Maná… haha evetytime I put One Way Trigger one friend of mine is like “damn everytime you put it is like *starts singing like the vocalist of the mexican band*

Tyranny is on the official list for the 2014 cassette store day releases !

4 Joseph A August 20, 2014 at 2:28 pm

@LillySu Thanks for sharing. The songs sound even better now!

5 Joseph A August 20, 2014 at 2:35 pm

So on Arabic Jam Julians talks about “Getting in the backseat and eating you out” That’s hilarious. Would ever hear that on a Strokes album? I don’t think so but I it certainly seems possible after Tyranny.

Great link @LilySu – amazing quality and great hearing band adjust the sound – listening now, cheers!

7 suuup August 20, 2014 at 4:33 pm

that is pretty amazing, can someone rip that and put it up to download? i would but lol honestly by the time i figured out how to do it, it would be taken down

8 suuup August 20, 2014 at 4:37 pm

straight up in ego he says “i try to make love to your wife”

9 Lynn Wiberg August 20, 2014 at 7:22 pm

@Suuup and y’all

I think he’s toned down the “explicit” nature of those two lyrics. In the Coachella recordings it’s definitely tamer.

@Arthur Dubois

That’s fucking rad! A Cassette totally fits the Voidz aesthetic.

10 Lynn Wiberg August 20, 2014 at 7:30 pm

Ah crap. No CSD stores in Utah. I’m going to end up dropping some real cash for that damn cassette.

11 Mike August 20, 2014 at 8:58 pm

@ LillySu Thank You for this find, post 300, this is the best voidz has sounded, very excited….

12 Stevespoon August 20, 2014 at 10:05 pm

No way paying attention to the Vegas show? Going off of Instagram it looks like One Way too W2J’s place as second song

13 Mikey August 20, 2014 at 10:28 pm

I’m surprised at the lack of conversation compared to the NY shows.

14 Stevespoon August 20, 2014 at 10:46 pm

Looks like it’s been the same songs but in a different order so far

15 Stevespoon August 20, 2014 at 10:58 pm

But with Killing Lies! Not my favorite, but it’s always nice to see the second side of FIOE being represented.

16 Mike B August 20, 2014 at 10:59 pm

I heard they played killing lies, but yeah besides that it appears like it was the same songs

17 Mike B August 20, 2014 at 11:00 pm

Damn, just a second too late lol

18 Stevespoon August 20, 2014 at 11:06 pm

Haha close! I wonder if they replaced Happy Endings with it, that would be a bummer to me.

19 Mikey August 20, 2014 at 11:10 pm

I really hope they play more comedown machine for FYF… and that they didn’t cut any.

20 Travis Bickle August 20, 2014 at 11:15 pm

They played Tap Out also…amazing

21 Stevespoon August 20, 2014 at 11:24 pm

Did they actually play Tap Out or was it just on the setlist? Can’t believe there’s no video of it if they did play it!

22 Stevespoon August 20, 2014 at 11:27 pm

Here’s the setlist by the way:

No take it or leave it or last nite is a weird but nice change! I wonder if they’ll replace Tap Out or happy sendings with those tunes for FYF

23 Stevespoon August 20, 2014 at 11:29 pm

Better quality pic. I know I’m being selfish but goddamn why couldn’t they have played Tap Out in New York?

24 Ted August 21, 2014 at 12:42 am

Tap Out ! I’m looking forward video on this one ! Hope it will surface on Youtube !

25 ___ August 21, 2014 at 12:56 am

I think the best lyrical gem in that video is “I wanna fuck your face for breakfast” from Biz Dog

26 shame August 21, 2014 at 1:06 am

@Ted according to people on twitter, they didn’t actually play tap out. must have ran out of time or something. hopefully it’ll surface at FYF!

27 Ahora August 21, 2014 at 5:16 am

Nice to see a change in the setlist from the the two previous shows albeit a minor tweak. On a side note I hope the merchandise they sell at their current shows will be available online. I made a mistake of passing on that new red shirt thinking I could grab it online.

28 johnr August 21, 2014 at 5:35 am

Very cool. Ive always said I wish the have some more love to the second half of first impressions. Good to see they finally kept last nite on the shelf for a show. What song is mama loves her baby blues again? I think they put the same thing on the port chester setlist list.

29 JC August 21, 2014 at 5:53 am

@johnr happy ending, if im not wrong

30 Kev August 21, 2014 at 6:05 am

I couldn’t wait to check this site today for updates, pics, etc. about last night’s show. Strange that there’s not much here (or anywhere else online that I could find).

31 Stevespoon August 21, 2014 at 6:08 am

What a tease with Tap Out! If they didn’t play it there, I imagine it will be dropped for Last Nite at FYF.

32 Omar August 21, 2014 at 7:17 am

no videos? nothing? have they played Tap Out? i wanna see a videoooo!!!

33 Nick August 21, 2014 at 7:52 am

I was there, they didn’t play tap out. Songs from comedown machine were OWT, W2J, and happy endings.

34 Joseph A August 21, 2014 at 9:11 am

@____ Julian did say in an interview he’s finally gotten his lyrics to where he wanted them to be

35 Jonny B August 21, 2014 at 7:18 pm

I agree that it’s good to see more songs from FIOE. We’ll just have to see what happens at FYF…I’m so excited. Leaving for Cali tomorrow at 6AM. Lol. In an unrelated story, I just got my tickets to see Spoon in Austin at Stubbs on Oct 11….then a few days after I’ll see Of Montreal in Austin. Then, on the 30th, I’ll see Julian and the Voidz. In early November I’ll see Alt-J, The New Pornographers, Neutral Milk Hotel, Foxygen, and Modest Mouse, among many others.

So yeah, great time for live music. Also, I have a weekly gig on 6th street playing my original stuff.

I am so flippin excited about Fuck Yea Fest!!

have ya’ll seen this fan video for OWT?
I hadn’t, and it’s one of the best I’ve seen.
