The new Julian Casablancas solo album could be released in September

Julian+Casablancas+Reading+Festival+2011+Day+aXnofG_CC7klJulian sat down with after his Lollapalooza preshow on March 28, and talked about his show in Chile, The Strokes and the target date for his upcoming album.

Here’s the most newsworthy section…

For those that don’t speak Spanish, the first sentence loosely translates to say that he’s now targeting September to release a new album.

Optimistic about the future of the strokes? Really, then why would he be working so hard with a new band thats clearly not on the strokes level? The generic answer he gave sounded like a maybe at best.
But no worries im sure julian will need to “pay the bills” again and use the strokes.

Here’s a scene from the movie Trainspotting, that i think perfectly describes the current state of Julian/the strokes. A bit ironic as the movie has several lou reed songs and the antagonist is a recovering heroine addict.

I enjoyed “Julian Casablancas” posts. Sad to see some people don’t have a sense of humor around here.
