NME seemed rather lukewarm about ‘Comedown Machine’ on its first listen, but Q Magazine seems more upbeat.

Reader Very metal wrote the following last night. I’ll post the scans once they hit the Internet.

Four star review in the new Q. Can’t scan it as I’m on a iPad reading it. “The identity crisis is what makes the fifth album click. They sound like themselves but nothing like themselves at the same time.” They say Tap Out is “dreamy” and like Human League and also compare the chorus of Japan to Technotronic. “It’s an album of space and light, nothing rushed or boxed in. That approach is best captured in the mesmeric Slow Animals… Comedown is their best album since they hit perfection with their debut.”

Nice!! They call out tap out, 5050, all the time and slow animals as highlights. Anyway, thought I’d spread some cheer.

This morning, Very metal wrote this: “‘The Strokes: breaking up is hard to do, but it’s easy to listen to, page 102.'”

I’ll post the scans once they hit the Internet.

Thanks, Very metal!
