It’s been a week since I last posted on this site. The reason is partially because I’ve been extremely with personal and professional business, but also because there ain’t any shit of significance going on with The Strokes.
Here is a list, in bullet form, of some of the stuff that has happened with The Strokes over the last week.
- Nick and Amanda went to their kids’ open house in matching leather jackets.
- Nikolai will play Petty Fest 10.
- Some assholes named Wilder accused Julian of ripping their feather-in-hair style or some shit. At least he was truthful with his intent.
- Rich Priest took a vacation and made everyone who receives his mobile updates on Twitter uber pissed.
- Everyone who payed 20+ dollars for the Julian Casablancas-edition of Blag Magazine is STILL waiting. It’s only been three months now.
- The Strokes might play Glastonbury in 2011.
- Julian will be featured/interviewed in a new book.
- Ms. Hanan published another quality Strokes bootleg from the pre-ITI days.
- Albert spun some records in New York City for Jerry Schatzberg’s Women Then 1954 – 1969 book release. Some fan girls were there playing paparazzi.
- Julian made this year’s NME cool list. A source tells me the votes were tallied before the Thundercats video hit the web.
- Some readers decided to create a Facebook group where fans of this site can go hang out together and possibly find some sex. You can find the Facebook group (named “Alone, then Together”) right here and how the group originated right here.

I probably should be over on fb focusing on my new solo project, but believe it or not, I actually have an opinion on Feathergate.
Today on my other fave fansite, fuckyeahjuliancasablancas.tumblr.com, there is a ridiculously adorable pic of Julian and Juliet & I couldn’t help but notice the feather in Juliet’s hair. And the pic was taken long before Julian was ever on a solo tour. So when Julian was stroking that young man’s feather, he was probably just missing his lovely wife & that’s who inspired his look.
Wait, did I just compliment Juliet & possibly consider her Julian’s real muse? Kill me now.
Good work on the FB group, Becky! I think it’ll be a good way for us to talk about strokes stuff and share our fave vids and such while we are not-so-patiently waiting on Strokes IV (and for Speedy to find him a lady friend). I also think you may be on to something with the Juliet feather thing. Though I will say…Julian did look a lot like that Wilder keyboard player for a while there. But who cares- the guy in that interview was a douche.
Extremely happy to report that the FB group is completely insane already. Maybe possible rename to the Strokes porn group. Just a little tease. Otherwise, my lips are sealed! Come check it out!

Found that Music book at Barnes & Noble today. It’s $50 AND it’s wrapped in plastic so you can’t look at it. F that.
Stayfahnee, something about that pic on here or wherever that had Julian juxtaposed with Fiona Apple (another personal hero), I was immediately sold.
I was going to get it for $30 on Amazon, but then the sales dude at Borders was so intent on assisting me with every aspect of my purchase & he he smelled of cigarettes and dirty boy hair, so I dropped the $50.
Oh, men don’t notice what they’ve got…
But don’t expect any scans from me. Total IP nazi 4 eva…especially about anything Julian has committed his time to.
I’m more of a rambling-, incoherent-review-type gal anyway.
Was it worth it? (I love Fiona too, man!) It has a lot of cool peeps in it. But $50. That’s a lot of money.
I don’t have it yet. It’s coming in a couple days…or that boy stole my credit card #, one or the other. I’ll keep you updated. And I think Speedy just kicked me off my own stupid fansite.
