The following video is an unofficial art piece created for “Call Me Back”, the seventh song on Angles. It was created by Albert Hammond Jr. and sent out via email as a thank you of sorts to all of those which preordered the Strokes’ new record.
Thanks to Will for the link.

The best of Albert Hammond Jr. has yet to be seen. I do feel like his soberness is helping him embrace not only The Strokes, but his artistic vision as a whole.
Cool video
This is absolutely genious. Who’s that girl, btw ?
Is it just me or does the song/Julian sound better in this video?
pretty tight….. the girl is smokin.
oh and Dan,
it’s just you buddy. He sounds the exact same, great
How exactly did Albert make this? lol
I’m lovin the Futura bold oblique with lots of interletter over yellow background for Angles-things.
Wow, this video is so many times better than the one they made for UCoD.
Albert should direct all future Strokes videos.
Getting artistic there, Albert?
Seriously, though, this video is lovely. It develops the tone of the song really well.
I know that i’m a little late with the whole suggesting videos of the day thing, but these are pretty cool ones…

The girl is Camille Rowe.
I think it’s a great video. It fits the song perfectly.
this is about the nikolai and fab interview, does anyone have the alternate take of “last nite” nikolai is talking about in the interview?
i have always thought albert’s solo videos were really cool. no surprise he made something so beautiful
there is an alternate version of last nite on the modern age ep if thats what hes talking about
that was absolutely mesmerizing.
@nick i’ve always been wondering about that, i don’t think it ever leaked.
come on, guys, we can’t let the strokes lose so pathetically to sum 51, even if the contest is retarded. VOTE!: http://newsroom.mtv.com/2011/03/28/march-madness-sum-41-the-strokes/
i voted and did my part….how embarrassing would that be if sum 41 won over the strokes? i’m canadian, but even my patriotism cannot come b/w me and the strokes
Woah, just came across this by accident.
Its a lupe fiasco strokes mashup thingy. machu picchu with show goes on..
check: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBavWCoA6Ig
don’t know if i like it tho..
thoughts?
is this to be taken seriously? http://thesilvertongueonline.com/?p=24902
yes it is some serious shit
there are 2 other takes of last nite on the “Lost Treasures” album. It’s not live that’s for sure and they sound pretty awesome even if a bit messy
Woah thanks wolfman for the heads up. Yeah julian has done a track with digitalism. Clash music has a clear article on it. It’s going to be released june a 20th and he only contributed vocals. It said he did it by email. Cool!
By email… So the 5 years break, it was because he forgot the password of his mailbox ? “The Strokes 2.0″ is full of meaning now, it’s about their new way to work.
@Maria
The NME report on it says that he did not contribute any vocals. http://www.nme.com/news/digitalism/55760 Although most music magazines are complete garbage these days so who knows
@saywhat i think you’re right because i just checked back to the clash article and they’ve taken out that sentence so maybe they had wrong information. Sorry. Should be interesting though. Apparently the track is called Forrest Gump!!
The producer Jens Moelle implies that digitalism are maybe going in a different direction with their sound…
A delicious stroke’s cake! Who wants to taste it? Mouthwatering…. I would like to have one in my hands… so freaking awesome – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVMo1vo2BTM&feature=player_embedded
I love the video, but it doesn’t mix or add up with the song.
pilar
too true..its a doodle, hardly a work of ‘genius’ as some would call it.
I love albert though
I agree with you and don’t want to watch again..
Eric please make this video of the day. It’s my favorite strokes vid, and probably the most primitive on the web! Soma is awesome lol. It’s probably worthy of being video of the week!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoTaxh_rt0Y&feature=youtube_gdata_player
ps- you may want to consider making the vids “weekly” opposed to “daily”, because there is a finite amount, afterall.
Thanks
ERIC,
Another link for the Digitalism thing
http://exclaim.ca/News/digitalism_return_with_new_album_recruit_julian_casablancas
“The duo worked with the Strokes frontman over email, eventually arriving at a song called “Forrest Gump.” While we were hoping it would be a new straight-legged dance move, Digitalism’s Jens Moelle tells the NME that it’s about “constantly keeping on moving otherwise you’ll be in some sort of psychic peril.” “
is there an alt take of a “Last Nite” video?
does anyone have a link?
honestly, i could have sworn i saw a different video the first time i saw them then the official one.
I watched this video the first time with no sound…pretty trippy! lol
I hope Julian keeps doing fun collaborations- I still have “Boombox” as my ringtone!
anyone have a safe download link for the Lost Treasures? i’d never even heard of those before
has anyone heard anything about the jimmy fallon show? besides julian’s tweet about rehearsing and hoping they play games, i haven’t heard anything else about it…
@kimdiy my money’s on gratisfaction
@dave I downloaded it from here: http://thesteamengine.blogspot.com/2011/03/download-strokes-lost-treasures.html The download link is right below the tracklisting. I think a lot of it is just a collection of early live versions but it sounds great!
i cant get how you’ll be able to share like this remarkable posts admin very much thanks
