It would’ve been cooler if it were the whole Strokes.

Albert seems like he’d be really fun to hang out with! It’s too bad Julian doesn’t do anything like that.
Annie I like your twitter thing!
@Annie 1251
We clicked once again.
Haha! Crazy fuck! Of course! And how Albert on his twitter hurried to corrected he’s not 5’1 but 6’1. Men are so obsessed with their hight. Annie, I didn’t get to post about this tweet, but I was so overjoyed with it.
Albert looks hot. Just sayin’!
The Strokes live 2003 album that wasn’t…why WASN’T it? The ripcord recordings are phenomenal!

Albert talking about playing MSG last year – all their parent were there! Awwwww!
Q: somebody was saying that thats the first time that everybody’s parents were at a Strokes gig in quite some time
Albert: thats the first time that I hitnk everybody’s parents were together since.. I celebrated my 21st bithday with everyone’s parents (laughs). When we were doing Is This It, at the finishing of recording of Is This It. It’s just something about MSG that’s kind of like a staple, like “You made it, you’re playing MSG.”…It was crazy to me, I just remember getting on stage, and it was all dark, people were yelling and we started “Is This It” and I got goosebumps and then Elvis Costello was there and then I was home.
@Leaving Just In Time
Holy Crap!!! I just clicked on your Reptilia – I SWEAR I got goosebumps when the music started!!
It is SO AWESOME!!
What does this comment mean?:
“Band manager Ryan Gentles said that the live album never happened because the recordings ended up sounding like a really good bootleg. I agree completely. ”
**Who freaking cares if it sounds like someone recorded it on their phone – that version is AMAZING!!
I would buy that version!
If they would only sell some of their live stuff!!
I am posting LillySu’s Julian photo here from the other thread –
does anyone have any idea if this is recent?
http://nothingventurednothinglearned.tumblr.com/post/28233429127/ahugfromjuliancasablancas-i-just-found-this-on
@LillySu
He is in a T-shirt – could we get our hopes up that it is really new? He looks thin!
This one is from March – does it look similar? Why can’t people freaking put a date on these photos? Lol!

@Anne 1251
Check out all the ripcord recordings from the Alexandria –12:51, What Ever Happened, etc. They’re all amazing! I would’ve loved a live album, too.
@Annie & Leaving Just In Time
I have downloaded the whole Alexandra Palace, London (Dec 06 2003) concert and have listened it few times. They are good, very good, but all the songs are so fast paced. Like they are hurring somewhere and have to finish it on time. I actually have a problem with Under control being so fast. Compare that one…

And this one from Coachella 2011…

The second one is so much more emotional and shit, don’t you think so?
I just stumbled on this Julian’s pic…

@LillySu
I just listened to both Under Control versions – totally, definitely Cochella was way, way better!
so sensual – so beautiful – so moving! I loved that it was in black and white-ish – just made it that much more special. And I liked that each guy got a nice close up.
Here’s a couple of my favorite posts:
this song is so blissful and julian’s voice fits like a glove. i LOVE it.
Julian doesn’t have to strain his voice to sound lovely…
I love these natural smooth vocals as much as his raspy singing.
Fabrizio is always smiling!
It’s amazing how The Strokes pull of their songs with a sort of careless slacker vibe, as if it doesn’t really take much thought or effort to write the songs, and yet they’re really so well constructed, the lyrics and melodies, the arrangement, they’re such great songs. This one has a nice sort of “soul” hark-back.
@Modern Age & Errrybody
I was just looking through the posts here and saw yours – and it got me thinking.
What is something that Julian could do (comfortably) similar to this? and I thought of two things:
1) When he interviewed the guys from the Doors -he was so much more comfortable on the OTHER side of the mike, lol!
2) Anything with sports. He is so much more into sports than I originally thought. Not that there’s anything wrong with that – just sayin’!
Did you ever see this interview from 2006 he did about the Mets?
http://www.yankees2000.com/y2k/2006/11/y2k-interview-julian-casablancas.html
I think if he did a tour of Citi Field he would be talking everyone’s head off!
