The Strokes Will (Likely) Play ‘Saturday Night Live’ on March 5

UPDATE: The suspicion has been confirmed. The Strokes are playing SNL on March 5. Updated

Julian Casablancas sent out a simple tweet today: “Yep. Party in the USA. March 5th.” the tweet read.

Miley Cyrus, the singer of “Party in the USA”, was named the host of March 5th’s Saturday Night Live a couple hours ago.

Coincidence? I don’t think so.

If they do, obviously they’ll probably do “Under Cover of Darkness” and its B-side. But what would be the third? “Reptilia?” “You Only Live Once?”

I propose a cover. To show their sense of humor and showcase Nick and Albert’s interlocking guitar lines, I’m starting a Facebook campaign now to have the Strokes do a third song on March 5th and have it be:

“The Boys Are Back In Town” by Thin Lizzy.

I just wonder what the stokes’ think of sharing the show with her…ugh. Whatever, can’t wait to see them perform on the show though! That would be awesome if they played three songs!
