its funny how things work. Warren fu worked on star wars and then the strokes, Briet worked on 3D editing for the ring, then end up working for the strokes as well. who could plan that.

Love in Albert’s video how the instruments images’ successions represent the song’s beat and notes. Hope they will reproduce it in the new one.

I want to confess that Im tired of listening to Taken for a fool. it’s a good song, I know, but it kinda burned out quickly. I’m looking foraward to watch the video though…
I think the video is going to breathe a new life, if you will into this song. Gratisfaction is on my repeat run list now

I think they should have adopted “The Ring” premise for the “Under Cover of Darkness” video. Have the band watching the “Last Nite” video on TV and when they get to the “Everybody’s signing the same song for ten years” part, have the 2001 Julian craw out of the TV and impale the 2011 Julian by spearing him with his mic stand like a javelin.

I disagree with lifesucksbigtime AND Atd. Taken For A Fool is a great track and sounds every bit as good as it did the first time I heard it, if not better! Great choice for a single. Now, has anyone heard of this being released on vinyl with a b-side?!?
Duh, nevermind. From Ryan: “A 7″ vinyl single is coming shortly, details on the b-side and release date are still being finalized but we’ll be sure to keep you guys posted.”
i hope the b side isnt another angles track but it probably will be. Probably games or something. They gotta have songs in the vault that would be a good b-side!

Yes. That makes more sense. The 2001 Julian craws out of the TV and 2011 Julian conquers him and puts an end to having to sign “Last Nite” at every concert for the rest of his life by killing him with the mic stand. Much better plot.

For their handful of B-sides, the Strokes have a habit of releasing either live tracks or collaborations (Regina Spektor, Eddie Vedder). Maybe they’ll kill two birds will one stone and have the live Madison Square Garden version of “Taken For a Fool” with Elvis Costello be the B-side.

I was checking the new strokes website and on the video section there’s no Heart in a Cage video and on the strokes youtube channel neither… why’s that? It seems like they hate that video…
