After what happened the other night, I’m not going to be definitive and say The Strokes are working on their new record. But Nikolai’s tweet certainly makes it seem that they are in some capacity.

On the 17th Julian tweeted a pic of himself signing a Cult Records contract…could that have anything to do with this?

the two other people in that picture with Julian are Richard Priest and Warren Fu. “No disassemble” probably means all 5 members are in the same room working together, unlike how alot of Angles was worked on

@joe, When Julian tweeted the picture of him with Warren Fu and Richard Priest, a lot of us thought the caption was referring to him signing on to do another solo record vs. Strokes V. Richard Priest then tweeted that wasn’t the case, and that Cult Records was singing some other new artist. Leave it to Julian to be vague, right?
The Strokes might have signed to Cult Records. Or Julian might be producing some new artist at Cult Records. Since Nikolai said 5 is alive, maybe that means they have a contract for the record and are going to start recording.
Unfortunately, I’m not going to believe that LP5 is being worked on until I see definitive proof… the fanbase has been lied to before and it can happen again, lol

“No disassemble” is what the robot Johnny Five says in Short Circuit when the baddies threaten to dismantle him. Then he dances with Ally Sheedy and becomes friends with Steve Gutenberg and eventually becomes an American citizen and plated in gold, but that’s getting in the sequel.
That being said, he could be cheekily saying album five is in progress and they are still a band.

Yeah I saw this profile from a reply on Albert’s latest picture on twitter, looked at the account on saw this tweet about Strokes V. After looking at the rest of the profile, I realized it was Fake. It really is dumb that people make these fake accounts, no point of them.
I asked this on another post – but I’m hoping someone here knows (Eric?)..was the picture of “Julian Just Wants to say Hey” (middle finger picture) that was posted here January 4- actually TAKEN this past January -2012? I am hoping it was 1) All Strokes together, some looking smiley – this would be great news! 2) Julian looking MUCH thinner..(although not as important as #1 – still good news!) Anyone?
