I posted this song on Twitter last night and the reaction was mixed. It sounds like a Strokes song — the beat, the guitar, the vocal notes Ke$ha hits in the chorus — but it’s still a Ke$ha song. Some loved it, others didn’t. What do you think?

Well, here’s one that came true: two/fifths of the Strokes are on your record! (Julian Casablancas and Fabrizio Moretti play on “Only Wanna Dance With You.”) How’d that happen?
Yeah! I know! That’s a good question. They just were down, and I was down. A friend of mine plays with Julian and we kind of knew each other, and Julian really likes Dr. Luke so they were talking, and it kind of happened oddly organically and in a strange way. I’m a huge fan of their music, and they’re on one of my favorite songs on the record. They’re part of a long list of some of my favorite bands that have actually collaborated with me on this record. It’s really exciting for me to work with people that are unexpected. I hope people freak out. I kind of freaked out when he was like, “Sure.” I was like, “Really?!”

@W, Either one would work for me, yeah there is that issue of disclosing real information. I wouldn’t let anyone else in but the 6 of us, for privacy reasons and b/c I’m pretty sure ppl would think we’re freaks. But Google would be good too!

Someone asked me if I wanted to join their French FB page and I hesitated as I don’t like the idea of outing myself after stuff I’ve posted here! The thing with google groups is its done under your email address and I always fear some huge hacking and having my posts go public. I kinda like being under a pseudonym even though it would be quite easy to work out who I was if someone really wanted to. Hmmmm what to do? To start a private google group it would be easy but we would need everyone’s email addresses and where would we post them? Not here!!!

I don’t know much about chat rooms. How would it work?
I guess someone could set up a google group or chat thingy and post the link. Then we could join and it would stay private. Always an option and in any case our email address is entered here for every post. Even if its not visible. I think I’d rather stay away from FB with this. I’m on it a lot and they change their privacy settings too sneakily for my comfort level. If my friends saw these posts under my real name – yikes – where’s the blushing smiley!

I don’t even put a lot on there b/c, like you said, the privacy settings are changed so often. Even Google does that, and it links to everything now! It’s all about competition for who can be the most successful vehicle to social networking. Anyway, this is too much fun, and there’s nothing wrong with having an anonymous group. So would there be an admin (one of us) who would approve/deny people asking to join?

Just changing the subject I’m kinda holding my breath as Zane Lowe is announcing 6 new acts for reading and Leeds including one headliner in half an hour – I wonder if it will be TS or not?
Ok so second headliner is Biffy Clyro. So I wonder when they announce the third headliner…hmmm maybe they won’t do the festivals. Maybe we really will get a real tour guys?
Well, I know they’ll do a real tour this year, I really really think they will b/c they MUST know last time sucked…

I just read an opinion that Reading and Leeds had spent all their budget on Eminem so I guess it’s unlikely TS will be the third headliners there. What other festivals are yet to announce their headliners I wonder? I hope Zane Lowe asks them about touring next week. He’ll have to I guess!

But I checked out google groups last nite (I made one to test it out) and it’s basically like this forum except private and you can make multiple threads. The interface looks similar to gmail threads, unsurprisingly. It might work, but only if we’re really interested in avoiding spam filters. We’d have to share our email addresses. We could always make new accounts just for this if necessary.

No email, facebook, etc required. And this is an actual chat room as opposed to a forum type thing like this thread. However, it is not private. And there is a slightly annoying message that will come up every time you click on a link someone posts, which we seem to do a lot.
It won’t load on my computer. I work in a secure place… they’re a pain about sites. What about the chatterous? Google might be better b/c of my work… Sorry to be a PITA!
