Julian Casablancas is back with the Sick Six as the group heads over to the UK for Glastonbury Festival.
viaThe summer festival portion of the Julian Casablancas Phrazes tour will kick off on Sunday at the aforementioned Glastonbury and will extend for 22 days before ending in Carhaix, France at Les Vielles Charrues on July 22. Along the way, Julian and his band will play Benicassim, T in the Park, Oxegen, Eurockeennes and Hove Festivals. The importance of these six gigs is that there is a good chance we get quality video from the TV networks of Julian’s performance from at least one these festivals. And probably an interview or two as well about the solo project and The Strokes’ reunion.

I love how (what it seems to be) Alex is wearing red skinnies and Julian is in black.
Mixed emotions on this one.
Always glad to hear about Julian and any of the Strokes or, (preferably) the Strokes themselves playing songs but I just can’t help but feeling like this is a step down (in terms of interest not quality).
I think this is due to the fact that every time I hear about a Strokes reunion gig I get excited because of the remotest possibility that they could play some new stuff or at least TALK about it.
With Julian I almost certainly know he won’t play any new songs and he’s the most apathetic when it comes to talking about the reunion so I doubt we’ll be getting much out of him until after July.
