UPDATE 3: It’s streaming! Listen here.
UPDATE 2: Zane Lowe just posted on Twitter that he’ll have two brand new Strokes tracks on his show tonight. Listen here.
UPDATE: There is a link on Soundcloud — it’s located here – where ‘Comedown Machine’ will most likely be made available later today. My guess is that it will be posted here first, then sites across the world will be able to post it and play it. I’ll post it on TSN if/when it’s made available. UPDATED
If you’ve read this site in the last 24 hours, you know what’s (likely) going to happen later today. Comedown Machine will reportedly begin streaming today on at least two websites.
Swiss radio station Couleur3 and Sopitas.com, a popular Mexican website, have both said that they will have streams on their websites. Couleur3 says it will be posted on their website at 4 p.m. ET, which is about four hours and 30 minutes from right now. Sopitas will also post it around that time.
With that said, I wouldn’t be surprised to see English-speaking sites like Rolling Stone, Pitchfork or Stereogum post the stream as well. I think the Strokes are smartly reaching out to a number of popular websites and radio stations across the world in the attempt to reach as many ears as possible.
