Big news: CRX’s new record, ‘New Skin’, will be out Oct. 28.

The other big news: the 10-song record was produced by QOTSA’s Josh Homme. Hey now.

The front looks like a Becky Cloonan piece… it reminds me a little of My Chemical Romance’s Killjoys concept album with its tie-in comic series, which was a cool idea if the music hadnt sucked

Not related to CRX, but rather the new Growlers album on Cult…

Back in February, I had a brief back and forth with a guy on YT who made a couple claims that at the time sounded sketchy, but most have come to be true. He said TGs were on Cult, having signed a contract 2 months prior (at the time there was no sign of that on the site), and that they were working on a new album with Julian producing, to be released in the summer. He said Brooks (lead for TGs) had told him this, and BTW he shared the same last name as Brooks. I figured he was just a big Growlers fan — look how many Casablancas there are on TSs vids. But, all that has come to pass, just as he said. He also said TSs were “firing back up”. Also true.

Here’s the thing… he also said that the Growlers Festival (i.e. Beach Goth, last October) was the last time Julian and the Voidz would be playing. So did Julian not only cancel the tour last year, but also decide not to do any future tours with them as well? And what does that mean for the new album that’s supposedly coming out? Strange and disappointing development.

that probably meant just for that tour it was the last show

Totally off topic, sorry.

Anyone remember an Alone Together live version where Julian didn’t sing the last part and it was just Nick and Albert shredding? Probaly from 2003 or 2006.

Alone Together at Eurockeennes; one of the best live solos Nick’s done.

Well now that Homme is involved my interest in this project just skyrocketed (well it was zero before, so…). JH elevates everything he touches and unlike the Strokes he is still at the top of his game.
