Albert Hammond Jr. Interview: 10 Years Later, We’re Still Cool!

It’s cliche to call The Strokes cool at this point, but Albert Hammond Jr. doesn’t care.

Albert told Q Magazine “Angles” is a very cool record in a recent interview and, to cement his seriousness about the claim, dropped a couple f-bombs.

“I don’t think fans will be disappointed. It sounds like a modern Strokes.“We’ve been doing this for 10 years now and we all understand ourselves a bit better. This record is testament to our instinct and survival.

“F**k, it’s the coolest thing I’ve heard in a long time.”

Albert also explained how the difficulties of making “Angles” was worth it because of the finished product.

“Making this album had moments of great frustration. Julian was away finishing his stuff, there was a lot of back and forth. But there were also moments of utter joy.

“That’s The Strokes’ chemistry. For some reason when these five crazy motherf***ers come together with all their frustrations it manages to create something really unique that people groove on. I’m really proud of this album, it’s an explosion of wonderment.”

the title of that blog post is so misleading. makes them sound like douches when it’s nothing like that at all. although it is more than likely true ;D
